This policy explains what personal data DATAINFO — Kenya Construction Intelligence ("DATAINFO", "we", "us"), a product of PConnect Intelligence, collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to people who use our site and to the business contacts listed in our directory.

1. Data we collect about our users

  • Account details: your name, work email, company name, phone number if you add one, and a hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
  • Usage records: which contact channels your account unlocked and when, credit balances and credit history, and sign-in and security events.
  • Payment records: the amount, currency, date and reference of each payment. Card details are entered on our payment providers' pages (Paymob or PayPal) and are not seen or stored by DATAINFO.
  • Messages: what you send us through the contact form.
  • Technical data: IP address and basic request information, used for security and to limit abuse.

2. Business contact data in the directory

The directory lists professional contact details of executives at construction companies (name, position, company and work contact channels). We collect it from public sources and through calls by our field correspondents, and we label how confident we are in each detail. We process it so that other businesses can reach the right person about work-related matters.

If you are listed and want your details corrected or removed, write to us through the Contact page and tell us which entry it is. We act on such requests promptly.

3. How we use data

  • To run your account, company wallet and credits.
  • To provide the directory and show you the details you unlock.
  • To process payments, prevent fraud and keep the service secure.
  • To send service emails (for example email verification, password reset, top-up decisions and credit expiry reminders).
  • To answer your messages and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Who we share data with

  • Payment providers (Paymob, PayPal) to process payments.
  • Email delivery providers to send service emails.
  • Hosting providers that run our systems.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.
  • Other users of your company: company administrators can see their company's wallet and unlock history.

5. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

6. How long we keep data

We keep account data while your account is open. Financial records (payments and the credit ledger) are kept for as long as accounting and legal rules require. Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to answer and follow up. Directory entries are kept while they stay accurate and relevant.

7. Security

We protect data with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and audit records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 and other laws that may apply to you, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. 9. Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will show the date of the latest update above. For important changes we will also tell you on the site or by email.
